BOTOX® was approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA)in 2002 for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people ages 18 to 65. Over 11 million procedures have been performed since 2002.

In India, BOTOX® was approved for its cosmetic use in 2006 for treating hyper kinetic facial lines like glabellar lines (lines that appear between the eye brows when you frown), forehead lines (lines that appear on the forehead when you raise your brows), crow's feet (lines that appear beside your eyes when you smile or laugh).
